When it comes to dermal fillers, people often notice results that look overdone, which is why many believe that filler always appears unnatural. In our experience, the most natural results are those that go unnoticed. At Clear Skin Dermatology, Dr Sanjay Siddha and his exceptional team specialise in achieving natural-looking results that enhance your appearance without drawing attention.
Dermal fillers are soft gels that are injected just beneath the skin. Most dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps retain moisture. As we age, the collagen and elastin in the skin of our face begin to deteriorate. Dr Siddha uses fillers to help restore the lost volume, resulting in lifted cheeks and softened creases.
Dermal fillers are generally safe for most people, but they may not be suitable for everyone. Consider factors such as skin type, medical history, and allergies before undergoing treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional, such as Dr Siddha, who can evaluate your individual circumstances and advise you on the best options available. Potential side effects and contraindications should also be discussed to ensure a safe and effective experience.
Dermal fillers typically last between 12 to 18 months, though results can vary for several reasons. If you receive fillers around your lips and mouth, the effects may diminish more quickly due to the constant movement in that area. In contrast, fillers injected into your cheeks and temples tend to last longer.
The dramatic results often showcased online typically occur when one specific area of the face is excessively targeted, while the rest is neglected. That’s why Dr Siddha believes in treating the face as a complete structure. He begins with a conservative approach to treatment and will add more filler later if you desire further enhancement.
During treatment, you will mostly feel pressure. Dr Siddha will first apply a numbing cream. The fillers are pre-mixed with lidocaine to ensure your comfort. Most appointments last between 20 and 30 minutes.
The side effects of the procedure are temporary and predictable. Typically, you will notice some swelling by the second day. If you receive fillers near your lips or under your eyes, you may also experience some bruising. To help manage these effects, apply ice and avoid intense workouts for at least a day. Additionally, sleeping with your head elevated can help reduce swelling.
